Heritage Malta’s Conservation Department is dedicated to preserving and restoring the nation’s historical and cultural treasures.

Our expert team of conservator-restorers works tirelessly to protect underwater archaeology, stone, ceramics, glass, metals, wood and furniture, textiles, paintings and polychrome sculpture, books and paper.

The Preventive Conservation Unit also monitors the environment of our sites and museums, providing advice to our curators.

Our conservator-restorers are professionally warranted and base their methodologies on the latest research in conservation literature to safeguard the authenticity and integrity of Malta’s invaluable heritage.
