Marking the completion of the first phase of the the Malta Maritime Museum project in Birgu, partly financed through the EEA Norway Grants 2014-2021, Heritage Malta has set up an impressive, one-of-a-kind temporary exhibition for a whole year inside the museum.<\/p>

Malta is an island nation, its destiny dictated by the waves that have battered its shores for centuries. Its people have ventured beyond those shores to the ends of the world, turning their biggest natural barrier into a bridge. A bridge that has brought them into contact with the whole world. A world that has delivered to the island war, famine, riches and prosperity: creating in the process \u2018An Island at the Crossroads.\u2019 The result of curators past and curators present, \u2018An Island at the Crossroads\u2019 is our attempt to read between the lines and uncover the identity of this island nation.<\/p>

\u2018An Island at the Crossroads\u2019<\/strong> delves into Malta\u2019s strategic location in the Mediterranean, revealing a tapestry of tales shaped by the sea\u2019s impact on the island nation and its identity. The artefacts on exhibit, tell a compelling story about love, conflict, and the difficulties experienced by those who crossed the sea for a fresh start. They range from ex-voto paintings to antique seafaring instruments.<\/p>

This year-long immersive and state-of-the-art exhibition, opened on the 9th of February 2024.<\/p>

Admission fee is at \u20ac8 for adults, \u20ac6 for seniors\/students\/concession and \u20ac4 for children. The exhibition will open daily (except on Tuesdays) from 9 am to 5 pm throughout February, and from March to December, it will be open every day from 10 am to 6 pm.<\/p>

This immersive, state-of-the-art exhibition is open every day from 10am till 6pm and runs till 31 May 2025<\/p>

Admission fee is at \u20ac8 for adults, \u20ac6 for seniors\/students\/concession, and \u20ac4 for children.<\/p>
